About Jane McGowan
About Jane McGowan
Hi!
I was born in England, but brought up in Southern Africa, spending time in Zambia, Zimbabwe (what was then Rhodesia), Botswana and South Africa.
We moved to Australia briefly for 8 months and then back to the UK.
I work full time, and spend all my holidays travelling. I do not take beach holidays laid on a sunbed, nor sleep in luxurious hotels. I like to experience how people in other countries live and eat. Have used long drop toilets, and eaten rats, worms, and frogs amongst other things!
I try and capture the world and beauty around us. I want people who have everything, and still complain, to see how lucky they are, but are the poorer for not being happy. Having the latest gadget does not make them as happy as a child in Africa whose dad has just made them a rattle from old bottle tops, or a car from wire.
Thanks for looking and taking the time to read my bio,
Helen aka Jane....... (its a long story :-) )
